Self-Identity/Representation

       Self-identity is the acknowledgment of one’s unique individuality. However, sometimes our uniqueness, whether it is race, sexuality, religion, gender, or story isn’t represented in society and is used against us.


By Abby Murphy How can I depict urban loneliness using abstraction and surrealist perspectives? Each piece features a brick wall, showing how one individual is so separated from the city around them. By the end of my investigation, I focused more on faces and figures to create more personal compositions.
